This policy explains what personal data Maboroshi Artworks ("we", "us") collects through this website, why we collect it, and what your rights are.

Who we are

Maboroshi Artworks is an independent game studio that operates between Japan and Spain, and the controller of the personal data described here.

What we collect and why

• Contact form. Your name, email address and message, so we can read and answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to people who write to us.
• Mailing list. Your email address, to send you news and updates about our games. Legal basis: your consent, which you give by signing up and can withdraw at any time.
• Technical data. Like any website, our hosting providers process your IP address and basic browser information when you load a page, in order to deliver it and keep the site secure.
• Cookies and analytics. The site is built on Squarespace, which uses cookies for essential functions and for analytics. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies in the cookie banner, and change your choice later.

We do not use advertising trackers, session-recording tools or social media tracking pixels.

Third parties

• Squarespace hosts the website and processes the contact form, the mailing list and the emails we send.
• Vercel serves the images, videos and fonts you see on the pages. Fonts are served from our own hosting, not from Google.
• Steam (Valve) provides the official Steam widget shown on each game page. It loads from Steam's servers when the page opens, so Valve receives your IP address, and its own privacy policy applies to that connection.
• Twitter / X, Instagram, YouTube and Linktree. We only link to them. Those services are contacted only if you click a link.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising.

International transfers

We operate between Japan and Spain and our providers operate in several countries, including the United States. Your data may therefore be processed outside the country where you live. We only use providers that apply recognised safeguards for those transfers.

How long we keep it

• Contact messages: for as long as needed to answer you and deal with any follow-up, and then deleted.
• Mailing list: until you unsubscribe. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, the CCPA/CPRA in California, or Japan's APPI), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to or restrict how we use it, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To use any of these rights, write to hello@maboroshiartworks.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us their data, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and the date at the top.
